19 Best Bath Products to Relax after a Long Day

I think taking a bath is the perfect way to wash away the day. As busy, ambitious women, we spend so much time taking care of everything and everyone else, and I think it’s so important to find a quiet moment in the evenings to see about ourselves. A moment to relax, wind down, and just breathe. For me, a nice, long soaking bath is one of my favorite ways to do that. In addition to my daily showers, I like to take a bath at least two to three times a week, just to slow down and give myself a little extra care.

There’s something about the sound and warmth of the water that makes me feel better about whatever happened that day. Add a good bubble bath, some bath oil, and a nice candle, and now we’re really setting the mood. I love products that leave my skin feeling soft and make my bath feel like a little experience I get to enjoy at home. Sometimes, that quiet time is exactly what I need before getting into bed.

To me, this is a top-tier way to get in some self-care without having to do the most. It’s a simple routine that gives you time to check in with yourself, relax your body, and enjoy a quiet moment at the end of a full day. And a few good products can make that moment even better. Below are some of my favorites that help elevate my baths from basic to phenomenal.

Lush Bath Bombs

Turn your evening bath into an experience with this Lush magnesium-rich bath cube made with Epsom salt, chamomile and lavender. Drop it into a warm bath, soak and relax while the calming scent helps set the mood for the evening. It’s such an easy little addition when you want to make an ordinary bath feel more like an at-home spa experience.

Magnesium Bath Flakes

Coconut Bath Milk

I love adding these Ancient Minerals magnesium flakes to my bath, especially when I want a simple, relaxing soak without any added fragrance or extra ingredients. They’re made with pure magnesium chloride sourced from the ancient Zechstein seabed and dissolve easily in warm water without leaving a residue. I especially love these for my evening baths when I want to slow down, relax and make my nighttime routine feel a little more intentional.

Best Bath Oils

BIODERMA

Atoderm Shower Oi

AVEENO

Daily Moisturizing Oil

Bath oils are one of my favorite ways to make an everyday shower or bath feel a little more luxurious while giving my skin some extra moisture. I love using an oil-based body wash in the shower to cleanse without leaving my skin feeling stripped or dry, then following it with a body oil while my skin is still slightly damp to help seal in that moisture. Naturium, Bioderma, Osea, and Aveeno have my favorites. It’s such a simple extra step, but it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and makes the whole routine feel much more spa-like.

Best Body Scrub

Sugar Scrub

A good body scrub is another one of those little extras that makes my shower routine feel so much more luxurious. I like using scrubs like the Dove Body Scrub or Tree Hut Sugar Scrub to gently exfoliate and get rid of that rough, dull-feeling skin, especially on areas like my elbows, knees and legs. My skin always feels noticeably smoother afterward, and I love following it with a body oil or moisturizer while my skin is still damp. It’s a simple step, but it gives you that soft, polished, just-left-the-spa feeling at home.

Best Body Wash

Body Wash

A good body wash is the foundation of my shower routine, and I love having a few different options depending on what my skin needs or simply what kind of mood I’m in. I usually look for body washes that cleanse well without leaving my skin feeling dry or stripped, with a rich lather and a scent that makes the whole shower experience feel a little more luxurious. Pair it with a good body scrub, then follow with your favorite lotion or body oil, and an everyday shower starts feeling a whole lot more like self-care.

Making Self-Care Part of Your Everyday Life

At the end of the day, self-care doesn’t have to mean expensive spa days or elaborate routines. For me, it’s really about being intentional about taking care of myself with the same energy I’ve spent years giving to everything and everyone else.

Sometimes that looks like getting enough sleep, going for a walk, eating foods that make me feel good or setting a much-needed boundary. And sometimes it absolutely looks like lighting a candle, pulling out all my favorite bath and body products, and turning an ordinary shower into a whole experience.

The point is to find the things that make you feel cared for and make space for them regularly. Your self-care routine doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. It just needs to remind you that taking care of yourself belongs on the list too.

Because self-care, at least for me these days, isn’t just about looking good. It’s about creating a life that feels good to live.
